The Skye Canyon Community Association in partnership with the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation is hosting a holiday toy drive through Thursday, Dec. 11.
Anyone is invited to bring an unwrapped gift for a child in need or make a monetary donation online. Drop-off boxes will be placed at both Skye Center and Skye Fitness, and donations can also be made at olympiacompaniesfoundation.org.

The toy drive benefits Operation Warm Heart, a local nonprofit initiative led by First Sergeants at Nellis Air Force Base and Creech Air Force Base that provides emergency financial assistance, gifts and support to military families and civilian households facing hardship in the Las Vegas region.
Because so many service-members and their families are stationed far from home and may face unique challenges during the holidays, your participation can truly make a difference.
“We believe that every act of generosity, no matter how small, has the power to uplift a family and strengthen a community,” said Brittany Kincaid, events manager of Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation. “Through this toy drive, we’re not just delivering gifts, we’re delivering hope to those who serve our country and call Las Vegas home. We’re proud to stand with Skye Canyon and Operation Warm Heart to ensure no child is left without joy this holiday season.”
People are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys appropriate for children of all ages — from toddlers to teens — or to give a monetary gift that will be put to use swiftly, helping to meet urgent needs for food, clothing, holidays and morale support. Donation boxes will remain available at the Skye Center and Skye Fitness throughout the drive period; please ensure that all physical toy donations arrive by Dec. 11 so that they can be processed and distributed in time for the holidays.
By lending a hand, you’re doing much more than offering a toy or a check: you’re sending a message of solidarity, compassion and community. A child receiving a thoughtful gift feels valued. A family quietly struggling receives hope and relief. Our neighborhood, through this collective effort, becomes a beacon of kindness for those who serve and sacrifice.
If you’d rather donate online, visit the Olympia Companies Charitable Foundation website and select the fund for Operation Warm Heart. Every dollar will go straight to supporting local military families in need.
Through the years, similar community partnerships have contributed significant sums; one such foundation raised more than $300,000 to support Operation Warm Heart and families at Nellis and Creech.
The association and Olympia Companies hope you’ll take a moment this season to find something special — perhaps let your child pick a gift to donate or make a small monetary gift in honor of someone.
Encourage your neighbors, talk with fellow residents, and help spread the word: the more donations we collect, the greater our impact. Together, we can help ensure that local military families who live and work in our region are not forgotten, especially during the holidays.
